Microsoft have publicly announced today that their "Internet Explorer" web browser can be taken over to allow outsiders to take control of ypur 'pooter. They have only seen it happen wiv IE 7 so far, but others may be affected. This was written using IE 5.1 but I'll be using Firefox as much as poss in future. Problem is, in britain Internet Explorer is an integral part of the XP operating system and all but impossible to wipe from ones 'pooter. Well done,

Correspondents in San Francisco | December 17, 2008 MICROSOFT will release an emergency patch on Wednesday to fix a perilous software flaw allowing hackers to hijack Internet Explorer browsers and take over computers. The US software giant said that in response to "the threat to customers" it immediately mobilised security engineering teams worldwide to deliver a software cure "in the unprecedented time of eight days."
