More Microsoft Chaos

More Microsoft Chaos
Microsoft have publicly announced today that their "Internet Explorer" web browser can be taken over to allow outsiders to take control of ypur 'pooter. They have only seen it happen wiv IE 7 so far, but others may be affected. This was written using IE 5.1 but I'll be using Firefox as much as poss in future. Problem is, in britain Internet Explorer is an integral part of the XP operating system and all but impossible to wipe from ones 'pooter. Well done,

MICROSOFT will release an emergency patch on Wednesday to fix a perilous software flaw allowing hackers to hijack Internet Explorer browsers and take over computers.

The US software giant said that in response to "the threat to customers" it immediately mobilised security engineering teams worldwide to deliver a software cure "in the unprecedented time of eight days."

According to researchers at software security firm Trend Micro, attacks based on the vulnerability in the world's most popular Web browser are spreading "like wildfire" with millions of computers already compromised.

Microsoft typically releases patches for its software on the second Tuesday of each month and rushing this fix to computer users out-of-cycle is testimony to the severe danger of the threat, according to Trend Micro.

"When the patch is released people should run, not walk, to get it installed," said Trend Micro advanced threat researcher Paul Ferguson.

I'm Back (again)

I'm back (again)
Hewwo everyone, I'm back from the freezing wastes and dodgy food of Bulgaria, in fact I've been back since Sunday, enjoying the freezing wastes and dodgy food of Lancashire. In a way, the only difference is that in Lancashire no-one bothers to put grit or salt on the roads. I may well spend less time on here 'cos some of the folk that I met overseas harangued me into setting up a Facebook account and I'm spending part of my time on there. I hope that you have all been prospering in my absence. The Space Cafe is open for business as usual. The magician from the enchanted woods has baked us a new batch of "Spice" Cake. Yay!!!!!

SAD, SAD, SAD

Catching the London  bus home tomorrow lunch time to get back to England Sunday. I could well do wivout going home, but its something that has to be done, and Sam Bunny and the pigs will welcome me (I hope). Lord knows how far I've travelled on the trip, I've visited far more places than those thus far shown, and met heaps of lovely people who enjoy travel in the same way that I do. Lucky that I have the freedom to enjoy the freedom of travel. Today was a bit of a mess, the things that we wanted to do didn't really work out and MA (Marie Anne) finally threw a shitty. But it reflects well on our respective resilience and open mindedness that a 21 year old woman and an old tart such as myself can travel so far, through so many countries, successfully.P1020147

On the next to last night Marie Anne finally finds something nice to eat- a pancake with chocolate sauce. Perhaps we had bad luck, but I found the food in Bulgaria to be rough.
